4 things that smoking cigarette does to your body

Smoking cigarettes threatens not only the health of yourself but everyone else around you. Quitting smoking is the beginning of a positive change for yourself and the people around you, as well as a way to recover from the bad health that smoking results in. 1) Have serious effects on the lungs.

Smoking cigarette causes respiratory illness and weak disposal. Continued smoking stimulates the bronchial tubes, which are the two tubes that carry air to and from your lungs, and causes inflammation, resulting in coughing and the build-up of phlegm, while narrowing the bronchial tubes and weakening respiratory function. Someone who has smoked for considerable periods of time have a build-up of phlegm deep in their lungs, resulting the poor health of their lungs.  


2) Sexual dysfunction occurs.

Smoking cigarettes also has a negative effect on men's sexual function. Men who smoke are twice as likely to develop impotence than non-smokers. Also, if you smoke a lot, the length of the penis is also shortened because the muscles responsible for the construction of the penis do not function properly. 


3) Affects the health of the stomach.

Smoking cigarettes affects all parts of the digestive system, causing heartburn and ulcers. In particular, the risk of duodenal ulcers, a sore that develops on the upper part of the small intestine, increases and affects the process of drug metabolism in the liver. Smoking also reduces the secretion of bicarbonate in the pancreas and causes ulcers as it releases a lot of gastric acid. 


4) Causes the brain to age.

Wada, a professor at the Northeast Asian Antibiotics Research Institute in Japan, announced at a 24th Annual Meeting that there was a direct relationship between chronic cigarette smoking and aging of the brain. Furthermore, the smoking group found that blood cholesterol was higher than non-smokers' and that people over the age of 50 had brain contraction. These results were presented regardless of gender or age.  


Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of most cases of lung cancer and can result in a range of other diseases as well. Moreover, smoking harms almost every organ and organ system in the body and diminishes a person’s overall health. Therefore, making a detail plan and putting the effort to quitting smoking cigarettes is highly encouraged for all smokers.
